Noun - word that refers to a person, place or thing

Pronoun - a word that is the name of a person, place, institution, etc. and is written with a capital letter

Main Verb – a word or group of words that expresses an action, an event, or a state.

Adjective - a word that describes a noun

Adverb - a word that adds more information about place, time, manner, cause or degree to a verb, an adjective, a phrase or another adverb

Conjunction - a word that joins words, phrases or sentences

Preposition - a word or group of words used before a noun or pronoun to show place, position, time or method

Interjection - a short sound, word or phrase spoken suddenly to express an emotion.

Article - the words a and an

Four Kinds of Sentences - declarative, imperative, interrogative, and exclamatory

Subject - a noun, noun phrase or pronoun representing the person or thing that performs the action of the verb

Predicate - a part of a sentence containing a verb that makes a statement about the subject of the verb

Object - a part of a sentence containing a verb that makes a statement about the subject of the verb

Phrase - a group of words without a finite verb, especially one that forms part of a sentence

Clause - a group of words containing a subject and a predicate and forming part of a compound or complex sentence

Transitive - type of verb that directly affects a noun

Intransitive - designating a verb or verb construction that does not require or cannot take a direct object

Copula - a verb such as be or become that connects a subject with the adjective or noun that describes it

Infinitive - the basic form of a verb

Gerund - a noun in the form of the present participle of a verb (ending in -ing)

Participle - a word formed from a verb, ending in -ing
